Welcome To Blue Mill Screen Print and Design

Blue Mill is a home-based screen printing business in SE Portland Oregon.  We have the same equipment you would find in a bigger screen printing shop, just not as much of it.  Our shop consists of a 6 color manual print press, a pad printer (we are currently learning how to use, but we can out source any promotional needs you have), a heat press, and a hat press.  We are a fully functional shop and print for about 100 clients a year

Brian & April Bloodgood are the owners of Blue Mill.  They both grew up in small towns in Iowa.  They moved to the west coast in January of 2002 in search of warmer climates as well as bigger film and music scenes.  Working 2 and 3 jobs a piece for the first two years in Portland, they saved enough money to buy their first print press, and in 2004 Blue Mill was born.  Brian had just finished working for a couple local print shops, and April finished up her tenure at a school for children with special needs, and began to focus on the business.  Our first orders came from former employees, friends, and family that wanted to help out.  “Thanks Guys!!”  Then towards the end of the year April was able to focus on sales and Blue Mill started to grow, and is still growing today.

The name Blue Mill came from Brian’s Grandma and Grandpa Bloodgood’s restaurant in Oskaloosa, IA.  The Blue Mill restaurant was in business from the late 1930’s to the early 1940’s and was forced to close
due to WWII food rationings.
